I can’t believe what has been happening in this country lately. With that being said I have a very important questions for everyone out there. What the hell is happening in this country?
It seems like every week or two there is some kind of catastrophic incident that occurs tearing at the very fabric of our country.
Last weekend in Chelsea on the island of Manhattan in New York City was attacked and under siege. In the early evening of Saturday there was a bomb detonated injuring 29 people. Shortly thereafter another device was found several blocks away. The suspect was caught and shot by law enforcement several days later. I know this was an apparent act of terrorism.
Then this week there were extensive riots in the city of Charlotte, North Carolina. This all stemmed from an officer involved shooting. This is far from the first of its kind in this country. However, as has happened in past cases the public gets up in arms before all the evidence is available. Not to mention people seem to be going by is inflammable and inaccurate information. This to me is just another form of terrorism.
With this last rash of riots lasting several days, there was thousands if not millions of dollars’ worth of damages. There were also a large number of injuries and even several more people killed. Police tried their best to stop all of these violent riots. They got so out of control that the National Guard had to be called into help restore law and order.
I know for a fact that there are going to be people that disagree with me, but, I DON’T CARE.
The police in this country are under siege more than any city in this country. With the way the media and the public are in this day and age every move they make is under the constant observation of a microscope. It has gotten to the point that I am sure that a lot of these fine officers are getting discouraged when they report for duty every morning. On top of the constant fear as to whether or not they will return home most be compounded daily.
I live in a small mountain town and work as an EMT with a small police force. Even though it is a small area I have to admit I also fell the fear that they experience. We never know what we are truly walking into when we go out for a call.
I just want it said in plain English. I support Law Enforcement 100%.
