The Furry Catch

ConquestWeeWillliepuppyinwaterFor many years I have lived all alone in my little two bed room apartment. Every day I would come home from work to the shear emptiness and darkness of my life. Dinner was always a great time to just sit and reflect on my day. I never had to worry about starving there was always plenty of food to eat and I knew how to cook almost anything I tried.

I’ll admit that my life was lonely at times. However, I never had to worry about reporting to anyone else. Which was great since I could do whatever I wanted whenever I wanted to. When it came to the weekends I was able to get out and relax by the lake. Weather fishing or just sitting by the lake shore reading a book. It was always fun to watch the other people at the beach with their families.

On one fateful weekend my life got turned upside down. While out in my small motorized row boast fishing I saw something out of the ordinary in the distance along a stretch of abandoned shore line. It appeared to be a small canvas bag moving in an odd way.

I quickly made my way over to the shore at flank speed. Which for my little boat was not that impressive. But, I didn’t really need any speed to putter around and drown worms. Beaching the boat in a small clearing, I jumped out and ran down the beach.

I grabbed the bag and to my surprise it started to try and squirm away from my grip. Opening the small bag I was surprised to see the cutest little furry face looking back at me. Taking the little puppy out of the bag, I carried it back to my beached boat. The entire time he kept trying to get lose from my grip and was constantly nipping at my hands.

I took the little thing home with me that evening as I tried to figure out what to do with it. For the night I decided to lock it into my spare bedroom so that he was not free to wander the house. The next morning I found the spare room to have been completely torn up and covered in little puppy presents.

For the next week I tried to search for its owner or anyone who might want to take this little menace off my hands. Day by day I came home to a more and more devastated spare room. Not to mention it was really putting a damper in my single answering to no one or anything style.

Finally after much debating I decided that it was time to formally adopt this little life form. With all the damage he had caused it was easy to name him. What else was there other than Wrecking Ball or Wreck for short.

It didn’t take long for him to become house broken or for me to fall in love with this little blessing. Every day we spent a lot of time together. We took a morning run before breakfast and then a walk after dinner. Of course the weekend still was spent at the lake. He even learned how to calmly sit in the boat while I was out fishing and puttering around.

This was one of my largest and best catches ever. It sure will be a day which I will never forget.
