Horace waited in the alley outside the restaurant for a matter of minutes before the server emerged. The look on the servers face was one of shock at seeing Horace waiting for him there. He realized that his look of interest into the case had been seen.
“Hi there,” stated Horace.
“Hello sir. Can I help you with something? This area is off limits to customers,” stated the server.
“It is a public alley. What do you know about Brad and the Westfall’s?”
“I don’t know what you are talking about. I have never waited on the Westfall’s.”
“Yeah, but, you know something. I see you watching and listen to my talk with Jack.”
“I tried not to. Brad is a good friend and my roommate.”
“Then tell me what ya know.”
“I don’t want to get anyone in trouble.”
“It’s too late for that. Tell me.”
“Well Brad and Mrs. Westfall they were more than just a customer and server. Brad and her were spending a lot of time together.”
“What kind of time together?”
“She has been to our rented room on several occasions. The first time I walked in on there in a compromising position. After that Brad always warned me if she was coming over.”
“Really. Where can I find this Brad now?”
“I don’t know. He has not been home since he left here on Friday. I kind assume that he must be off with her, especially if the husband is away. It wouldn’t be the first time he has stayed with her when he is away.”
“Thanks –“
“Charles is the name. But, please call me Chuck,” stated the server.
“Well thanks Chuck. I will be in touch again in the future.” Stated Horace as he shook Chucks hand and walked towards the street to hail a cab.
Chuck had a look of confusion as he walked back into the restaurant.
